Dorstone Youth Club

Dorstone Youth Club is open to all children from 8 to 16 years. It was established in September 2008 following discussions with the young people of Dorstone who expressed a desire to set up a Youth Club. An application for funding from the Government's Youth Opportunity Fund secured a grant of £3000 which enabled us to purchase equipment and subsidise activities for the young people. We are fortunate enough to be able to use the facilities of Dorstone Village Hall supported by the Meredith Maddy Trust.

Led by Sarah Catterall and a group of adult volunteers has ensured the growing interest in the Youth Club meetings, all volunteers are CRB checked. We have 30 members to date.

We meet in Dorstone Village Hall on the second Thursday of each month. There is a nominal charge for attendance.

Activities on club nights include:

  • Pool Table
  • Table Tennis
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Interactive Computer Games such as Wii and a Karaoke machine
  • not forgetting the ever popular tuck shop

Outdoor equipment includes:

  • rounders
  • cricket
  • hockey.

To date we have organised a visit to a local Climbing Wall and to Laser Quest in Malvern. Further club dates and activities can be viewed on the Youth Club Diary of Events, below. If you are interested in joining us please call Sarah Catterall on 01981 550325
